About this listen

Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders from New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Yarros

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.

She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.

Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom's protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.

Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

good but could be better

look, i absolutely loved this because you get more background sounds than the normal version. but the way violet pronounces some things is very confusing.
i was reading along of my favourite parts of the book with this a few minutes ago, there were several lines that were different to my book. which that is very annoying.
i feel like the narrator for xaden doesn’t suit him tbh. i feel like it’s too much of a deep voice considering xaden is only like 23.
overall it’s good and im definitely going to finish this entire part. can’t wait for part 2. :)

Forth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

Wow! What fantastic book and well read too. I have not read this author’s books before so I had no expectations however I was hooked from the beginning. This book has thrilling suspense, romance, action and i love the unwavering character of Vi. She is adorable. Strong willed, stubborn as hell but sensitive and vulnerable too. I found myself holding my breath whilst telepathically willing Vi to over come every obstacle she faced including assassins. An absolutely thrilling read/listen (Audible). Thank you Rebecca! Love yr work.

Story is great

I prefer the original audio with out the dramatisation. The narrator in the simple version is fantastic and had a more mature voice than the lead in this version

My first dramatised novel and I loved it!

This book came highly recommended to me by several people I know and I can see why. Love the characters, the story line is exciting and engaging. And this dramatised audiobook was amazing, drew me in and kept me wanting to hear more. This is the first time I've listened to a dramatised audiobook and I'm glad that I did, was highly entertaining.

Really got into it by the end!

Have to say I wasn’t sure about the graphic audio part as this was my first time listening to one. It took a while but I really did get into it. The story is great and fast paced. A little predictable in places but an easy listen and surprisingly gets under your skin.
Can’t help think it was written for TV but that’s ok as I’m sure it would make an epic series.

Been waiting for a story like this all my life!

I love dragon rider stories and I love romance so this is perfect. The graphic audio is amazing with a do the sound effects. The dragons are brought to life with their growls and wing movements in this. The full cast are all great. I think Violet may be one of my all time fave FMC’s. So much to love in this book. Great chemistry with the main couple.

Not my xaden.

I’m sorry, that is NOT what xaden would sound like. I cringed every time he spoke. Why does he sound like he’s trying to do a sexy whisper every time, boy clear your throat and speak properly. Violets voice actor was brilliant aside from her pronunciation of some words.

Holy Heck this surprised me, you need yo give it a go.

I used a token to listen to this version mostly out of curiosity and I like dragons I guess, kinda knowing I'm definitely not the "target audience". Mate, I bloody loved it. finished it in 3 days and I can't wait for part 2.
The books clever and funny, vicious and exciting and wildly interesting, This Author is seriously awesome. Such a cool world they've built. The cast performance is on point for the, not sure what they call it? Live action book? I was hooked!

Audible is mostly for my drive home from site, I listened to this title all weekend! Was a bit funny to listen to the protagonist describe the blokes she's into, bit different from my usual perspective haha. Holy hell I loved this Audible.
