The Holy Quran is comprised of 114 suwar (plural of surah, or chapter), each divided into verses. The shortest surah (Al-Kawthar) has only three verses while the longest (Al-Baqarah) contains 286 verses.

Surat Al 'Imran (The House of Joachim) is the third surah of the Qur'an. In Islam, Imran is believed to be the father of Maryam (the mother of Jesus). The chapter is notable for attributing feminine origins to humankind. In addition to this, it states that some Quranic verses are allegorical and some are to be understood by others. It also features a disclaimer against misrepresenting the allegorical verses as factual and asserts that a special set of people, those firmly rooted in knowledge, are to be consulted. The Noble Quran, literally meaning "the recitation", also romanized Qur'an or Koran, is the central religious text of Islam, which Muslims believe to be a revelation from Allah SWT (God).
