A year after leaving Scotland, Susan Miller has freshly graduated from college and has a job as the manager of the printing department of a tourism magazine in the Outer Banks. One day as she’s going through her daily routine, she receives an unexpected call from her old flame, Danny, who tells her that he’ll be visiting the North Carolinian coast for work. Immediately a flood of emotions resurfaces as the two of them meet up again along the ocean shoreline and decide to take a trip across Susan’s home state.

Bored and unsatisfied, North Carolinian college student Susan Carter cuts off her relationship with her classmate George. Susan soon gets an invitation from her former roommate Heather to travel to the scenic city of Edinburgh and takes the chance to spend part of her Summer there. Little does she know that she’ll end up running into “Scotland’s most eligible bachelor” Daniel (“Danny”) McThwaites at an exclusive movie premiere.

Susan and Danny reunite at the worst possible time; while her father’s lies in the hospital and a hurricane has just blown through the Outer Banks, leveling her workplace. Could this be a sign that there’s a new better life awaiting her in Scotland? Can she reinvent herself across the pond? Is Susan willing to take that extra leap of faith, and if so, will Danny finally be able to have the courage to mend his relationship with her?
