Time Chain

It’s the year 2022. Dani Peterson has been walking in the west of Ireland, conducting historical research for her dissertation. But when she seeks shelter from a storm in Aideen O’Brien’s car, she gets more history than she bargained for. Aideen is a Time Link, with secret access to time travel technology. She sends Dani to 1978 to meet a younger version of herself. The two fall in love and Dani joins Aideen in her work. Their boss is a man from 2253 named Charles Burke, who says his mission is to save the future.

Believing all their troubles are behind them, Dani and Aideen seek to lead a more simple life. Their final mission is to bring Orla from 1801 to live with them in 2022. Then they will find peace. Not so. Charles is still on the loose, and has become so powerful that even capturing and imprisoning him won’t stop him. Space is being pioneered in the future using, unfortunately, time travel, and a virulent blend of intelligent life is heading toward Earth.

Charles speaks. And what a tale he has to tell. Charles’s obsession with immortality is well known, as are his methods for achieving it. But what about the side effects? So far, most of them have been positives, for him: telepathy, mind reading, creating things with his bare hands. Will there be any negatives? Oh yes. And now the entire galaxy is in peril.
