The Crystal of Life

Every year, the Beztiqi royal family holds a festival honoring their ancestors. But while the family tree—golden and glorious—towers over the city, mixed-bloods like Lendelam, sullied by a people who once roamed the land, aren’t allowed to attend.

The intergalactic war has been ongoing for decades. But the Sovereign, ruler of the galaxy, has his eyes on an enormous energy that will certainly win the skirmish against the Triumvirate—a rebel force trying to end his reign. Aware of the threat, the king of Crestahn, who’s secretly opposing the ruler alongside the other nations on his planet, hires a portal maker to beat the Sovereign to the source.

In the wake of tragedy, Moriq tries to piece together his shattered kingdom. But when the Sovereign suspects foul play within his ranks, all the Consortium’s assassins are summoned to the Flying Fortress, and he must leave his ailing family in the hands of fate. Upon his arrival on the Kaveir's generation starship, Moriq discovers he has been selected as a Master Trainer for an upcoming gymkhana. However, the combatants aren’t the children of nobles battling for prestige, but prisoners of war, forced to fight for the lives of their loved ones.
