Thousands of Heroes protect the land, defending against the periodic incursions by gigantic monsters known as World Threats. This was the way it had always been and Clay Shuntwise was perfectly fine with that. Running deliveries for his family’s shop in the sleepy town of Renton, the young teenager barely even thought about Heroes and their role in keeping the world safe. That was, at least, until a World Threat came crashing down on him.

Reborn into the brand new and unfamiliar form of a Dungeon Core, Clay struggles through learning more about Heroes and the dungeons they delve through to get stronger. According to the guide that was trying to help him understand his new life, Clay should already know most of what he needed to succeed; all of the finer parts regarding the relationship between Heroes and dungeons should be common knowledge. The problem? Despite wishing that he had been that lucky in his past life, Clay had never been a Hero…but now he might be forced to become one.

Will a drastic change in Clay’s dungeon be enough to prepare the local Heroes for the next World Threat? Becoming a Dungeon Core was the last thing that Clayburnside Shuntwise had ever thought he would become, but unfortunately, he didn’t really have a choice. However, after Clay fully embraced his new existence, he thoroughly applied himself to train the local Hero population to defend against the gigantic monsters that threatened the entire world.

The Tower of Trials awaits those who desire to challenge themselves...The Dungeon Core known as Clay had successfully trained up the local Heroes of Sunfall Island to repel the recent attack by a World Threat, but as he was beginning to prepare for the next Dungeon Adventure Season in his dungeon, something happened to bring his plans to a screeching halt. In short, his little part of the world was unexpectedly invaded by thousands of foreign Heroes.
