Posthuman

The world is changing. A mass market drug promised to boost intelligence. The world embraced it, and soon, everyone was a genius, but only for a while. The long-term effects crippled the world societies. A select few experience much greater changes, becoming something more than human.

The war of the posthumans is over. Tom Devine, now a posthuman himself, and TikTak, a hacker turned mercenary, are close to eradicating the threat the other posthumans pose, just to find a new one emerge in their wake. An artificial super intelligence of unknown origin takes over the worldwide networks and starts hacking humankind, threatening to end civilisation as we know it. Their desperate search for answers reveals threats far beyond the singularity.

The world as we know it is no more. The core AI and the posthumans have settled into a cold war. Mechanical monstrosities roam the Earth. The few remaining humans barely survive as nomads, never settling too long in one place. TikTak, the leader of one tribe, discovers a clue that could break the stalemate and finally end the Cold War. Together with Tom, now ostracised from the posthuman community for his role in creating the core AI, he journeys to uncover one last truth about humankind.
