Hollywood resident Pete Tyler is used to wanting what he shouldn't have—human blood—and what he can't have—a juicy cheeseburger, or the gorgeous Angie who serves those burgers down at the Starbucket on the Sunset Strip. He’s become comfortable with the lonely but predictable way he's survived since he died in 1973, when vampire lord Carson Fitzgerald turned him.

Being a vampire in Hollywood should mean livin' it up. Pete killed the bad guy, got the girl, and didn’t even lose his job in the process - but it's never that easy, is it? While Pete worries about Christmas shopping for the first time since 1972, trouble-making vampire Christopher Greeley rolls back into Hollywood, looking for a taste of the greasy magic power that now courses through Pete’s bloodstream—a power Pete’s not even sure he wants. It might control his hunger for blood, but the side effects may vary, including accidentally summoning ravenous, building-destroying monsters.

Good thing Pete Tyler is settling into his role as leader of the Hollywood vampires, because Untermeier's Donuts is opening their first West Coast location, giving Maisie Untermeier and her evil greasy magic empire a foothold right in the middle of his turf. Making things worse, Maisie wants vengeance on Pete for something he didn't even do.
