Dev and Lee

Dev is a football player at Forester University, a small liberal arts college where he and his teammates get to strut around and have their pick of the girls on Friday nights. That's as good as it gets - until he meets Lee, a fox with a quick wit and an attractive body. Problem is, Lee's not a girl. He's a gay fox, an activist who never dreamed he'd fall for a football player. As their attraction deepens into romance, it's hard enough for them to handle each other, let alone their inquisitive friends, family, and co-workers.

Devlin Miski thought coming out on national TV would be the hardest part about being a gay football player. But it's when his press conference is over that the trouble really starts. The athletic tiger and his boyfriend Lee, a fox with a tongue as quick as his wit, still won't get many breaks in their fight for understanding. They'll need to deal with a stubborn reporter determined to get a story any way he can, furious parents, and hostile teammates - not to mention each other.

It's been over a month since Devlin Miski came out publicly, and no other professional athlete has followed suit. Dev just wants to put it all behind him and play football, helping his Chevali Firebirds win their first-ever division title. If only his teammates and everyone else could just let it go, he'd be fine. But there's one teammate in particular who seems determined to make his life difficult...

Every distraction is a danger. And the number one distraction is his boyfriend, Lee. Sick over the death of a young player, Lee pushes Dev to take a more active role in reaching out to gay youth, and he doesn't take Dev's resistance well. When push comes to shove, will their love for each other triumph?

Football season is over, and in the wake of a tumultuous year, Lee and Dev decide to take this quiet time to think about their relationship. But as their friends and family draw the couple into their own issues, the offseason becomes anything but quiet. Watching the failures and successes of the relationships close to them gives fox and tiger a lot to think about, but they must decide for themselves whether their love is strong enough to overcome the obstacles in their way, namely each other.

Eight years after Dev Miski's first championship game, he's back in the playoffs chasing that elusive ring. Lee is chasing a promotion, one step closer to his dream job in the world of football. But Dev has a problem with his roommate, a flirty gay bobcat, and Lee is called upon to help a family member through a difficult transition. To get through these two weeks, they'll have to remember who they are—and decide who they want to be.
