Coven of Shadows and Secrets

One day I’m raiding tombs to buy my freedom from the man who has controlled me for years. The next, I’m caught and thrown into an Egyptian prison, only to be rescued by a vampire. Yes, a vampire. Tobias is as stunning as he is grumpy, and it turns out that he has a proposition for me. One I can’t turn down because it could spell freedom.

With two sacred stones at large, the world is inching toward chaos. Closer to home, though, Luca needs our help. He’s on the brink of death, and the only way to save Luca is to venture into Hell. I feel responsible for Luca’s illness, so I’m all in. The thing is, I’m pretty sure the leader of this mission has a dark secret. Just like Tobias. The secret master himself. One minute he's is hot. The next he’s cold. Personally, I’m feeling conflicted too. Not just about him, but many things: the mission to hell, the recent coven heist and, most of all, what the heist revealed.

Prince Wrath has risen. The Ringmaster has come to collect my debts. Across the Atlantic coven members are being held hostage. Oh, and I nearly die.

Hell’s royals have risen. The world teeters on the edge of destruction. And I’ve just found my real purpose in all this. There are seven Princes of Hell and seven Vindix—chosen warriors—to defeat them.

Los Angeles has fallen to darkness, and it’s only a matter of time before other cities follow. Where will be next? No one knows, and no one is safe from the seven Princes of Hell and their followers. As for me, I have a job to do—find the rest of the Vindix. But first, I’ve been summoned. The vampire royals in Isila have demanded an audience with Tobias and me.

Five of seven—that’s how many Vindix I’ve found. Usually, I’d call that a decent average, but decent is not nearly good enough and time is running out. Add that to the fact that Hans, one of the five Vindix I’ve managed to find, is in a coma, cursed by the vampire queen herself. Oh, and Gunner is still missing. Before we can solve a single one of those problems, the Princes of Hell claim their territories, throwing the human world into complete upheaval. They say when it rains it pours.
