In the night sky of the Planet Jarufan, there is a constellation known as the Warrior. One star in particular is sacred to the Jarufani people. It is the centerpiece of the most significant prophecy in their religion. Humans know this star as Earth’s Sun. The United Earth Alliance and the Jarufani Commonwealth remain in a cold war and skirmishes are becoming more and more frequent. The Planet Placido has become the main hub for criminals and spies going back and forth between UEA and Jarufani territory.

Five years after the Kinjal incident, the United Earth Alliance and the Jarufani Commonwealth are still recovering from their heavy losses. In the aftermath, Laskvo terrorist groups have emerged from the fringes and are gaining momentum. In an effort to create a less volatile environment, the UEA is sending a delegation to the Planet Shakar to try and win over a long time ally of the Jarufani. They are also sending an expeditionary group to a remote planet in an attempt to unlock ancient secrets that could change the balance of power in the galaxy. Veteran operative Conrad R.

When an old informant makes contact with the Sentinels, Conrad R. Slade is brought back from obscurity and must risk his life just to meet with her. Meanwhile, Avery Clark and Alondra Suarez are among many whose lives are turned upside down by one question: Is Nullis Groon a delusional demagogue or a Messiah? During a confrontation between the United Earth Alliance and the Jarufani Commonwealth, Groon hijacks an Earth Forces vessel and takes an already tense standoff to the breaking point.

Conrad R. Slade continues his hunt for the ones who killed his lover... Alondra Suarez is ordered to return to Placido to search for clues to the location of some missing scientists... Meanwhile, as the threat of a Jarufani invasion looms, a secret mission to an ancient Jarufani shrine is the only thing that can prevent a full scale war.
