Life can be hard when everyone around you expects you to be something you’re not. Whether you’re not good at it or simply don’t like it, we all want to follow our own dreams, not someone else’s. This is exactly what happened to Barney. He was a horse born so that people could achieve their dreams, but he had other plans. From home to home and trainer to trainer, it seems he will never be anything but a disappointment.

Lucy has big dreams and she’s determined to reach them, but what can a plain little horse do to get noticed in a world that values beauty? Secretly, she worries that the world will never notice her, and she tries desperately to stand out, but it’s never quite enough. Every time life takes a turn it seems to pull her farther from her dream, and doubt settles deeper into her heart. Lucy knows if she wants to make it to her “happily every after”, she must face her fear, hold onto hope, and trust that no matter what happens, she will always be a champion.

Too smart to be “just” a racehorse, too talented to hang out with other lesson horses, and too proud to believe in fairy tales, Milo chose a lonely path in life. He didn’t want cuddles, treats, friends, or even love until the day he met Claire. Her love opened his heart, but it would take nudging from a very special horse to finally open his mind.
