Autopsy of a Fairytale

After an attack on the job, Homicide Detective Isobel 'Bel' Emerson takes her dog and moves to the small town of Bajka in search of a less stressful life and career. But the quaint town's peace is disturbed when a local furniture designer is murdered, his body posed to look like a human chandelier. Thrust back into the fray, Bel must confront her personal demons as she investigates an impossible case, and as bodies turned into household objects start to pile up, all clues point to the reclusive millionaire who just bought the abandoned mansion at the edge of town.

Still reeling from her last case, Detective Isobel "Bel" Emerson finds comfort in both her dog and her newfound friendships. But when she and her new partner, Detective Gold, are called to the site of a bear attack, they discover something far more horrifying: the body of a young woman posed inside a cabin where the furniture is all too big. And to make matters worse, the cabin is located on Eamon Stone's property.

Isobel "Bel" Emerson finds her life disrupted once again when Eamon Stone receives a disturbing phone call from an old friend's daughter. Her family is in danger, but she can't call the police. Eamon is the only person she can turn to, and he agrees to help under one condition: Bel comes with him. Working undercover with only Eamon for backup, Bel arrives at Wendy Darling's expansive estate where she learns that both of Wendy's younger brothers have been kidnapped.
