For a decade now, the world has known of the existence of the immuno-degenerative and epidermal decomposition virus (strain two). The world governments and several civilian agencies have, so far, managed to keep the unimaginable from happening. They achieved it by keeping the outbreaks under control and preventing a global pandemic.

Six months ago, the world was plunged into chaos. The ImDED2 virus had been a mere nuisance for a decade. World powers were at a loss for a cure, but managed to keep isolated outbreaks from becoming a global pandemic. Until New Year’s Day of the year 2020. Just after midnight, the immuno-degenerative and epidermal decomposition virus (strain 2) exploded worldwide, subsuming humanity in a tsunami of blood and terror.

Ryan Maxwell and his family were fortunate enough to have the money to build the ultimate survival shelter and have weathered the zombie apocalypse in relative comfort. Ryan and one of his best friends, Nick Jones, have led a group through the wastes of the American Midwest down to Dallas, Texas, where Ryan’s parents were found to be alive. They’ve already made and lost new friends along the way so far.

For seven months the Maxwell family and their friends, both old and new, have fought to survive in the zombie apocalypse after the ImDED2 virus ended 90 percent of human life. Ryan Maxwell and Nick Jones embarked on a successful cross-country trek to Texas in search of Ryan’s parents, Owen and Leah Maxwell. Along the way, they encountered cannibals in St. Louis, Missouri, Texas Rangers in the Lone Star State, and a king in Memphis, Tennessee.

When the dead rose, Ryan Maxwell planned on waiting the apocalypse out in the massive Bunker he built after winning the lottery. In the eight months since Z-Day the Maxwell family and their friends have not only NOT stayed hidden away, they have searched the country for loved ones and taken hundreds into their safe Haven. The discovery of electromagnetic "ghosts" directing some of the undead changed the apocalypse landscape beyond anyone's imagination. But the further discovery of science that can possibly eliminate that threat may lead them down a more dangerous path.
