Doyle wrote four novels and 56 short stories featuring the fictional detective. The story is set in 1888. The Sign of the Four has a complex plot involving service in India, the Indian Rebellion of 1857, a stolen treasure, and a secret pact among four convicts ("the Four" of the title) and two corrupt prison guards. It presents the detective's drug habit and humanizes him in a way that had not been done in the preceding novel, A Study in Scarlet (1887).

In disguise, Holmes witnesses Adler marry the man she truly loves, then by means of an elaborate stratagem discovers the photograph's hiding place. But when Holmes and the king return to retrieve the photo, they find Adler has fled the country with it, leaving behind a letter for Holmes and a portrait of herself for the King.

Die Tat scheint sinnlos, doch Holmes Sinne sind geschärft und erkennen die fiese Absicht dahinter.

Kapitän Decker will seinen Ausbildner Admiral Willcox im Pensionärsheim auf einem Exoplanet besuchen. Sherlock Holmes & Dr. Watson möchten sich diese exquisite Altenresidenz auch ansehen und geraten unversehens in eine Serie mysteriöser Mordfälle...

Sherlock Holmes und Dr. Watson haben sich an Bord der Ultimo-1 schon so gut eingewöhnt, dass sie dem Ersten Offizier bereits lästig fallen. Deshalb versucht er, den Kapitän zu überreden, die zwei Gentlemen in die Vergangenheit abzuschieben. Leider macht ihm eine junge Raumfahrerin, die dringend Hilfe benötigt, einen Strich durch die Rechnung.

Sherlock Holmes und Dr. Watson sollen Admiral Schlierfaz vom Raumflotten-Kommando auf heikler Mission begleiten. Die Gattin eines Erfinders auf einem Planeten, wo Kriminalität unbekannt ist, soll überredet werden, den werten Gemahl aus dem Kryo-Schlaf zu wecken. Doch es erwartet sie eine üble Überraschung.

Die Aufnahme von Rohstoffen sowie eine nötige Inspektion zwingen die Ultimo-1 zur Landung auf einem Exoplanet. Sherlock Holmes und Dr. Watson nutzen dessen angenehme Natur, um sich die Beine am Strand zu vertreten. Ein Unterseeboot, das aus dem Meer auftaucht, entpuppt sich zu ihrem Erstaunen als die Nautilus, welche einst auf der Erde stationiert war, und sie werden Zeuge eines Begräbnisses.

Sherlock Holmes wird beauftragt, die Rentabilität eines Gefängnisses auf einem Strafplanet zu prüfen. Gemeinsam mit Dr. Watson und dem Roboter Elmer lernt er den Direktor der Anstalt kennen, der mit eiserner Hand regiert. Ein Aufstand ereignet sich, bei dem Holmes vermitteln und den Mord an einem Insassen aufklären will.

Zum Ärger von Kapitän Decker muss sein Raumschiff als simples Transportmittel für den Nachwuchs zweier Minister dienen. Deren Kinder sollen sicher ins Ferienlager gelangen. Sherlock Holmes & Dr. Watson erhalten den Auftrag, das aufmüpfige Trio dort zu beschützen. Doch schon ihre Ankunft gerät zum Desaster. TRIGGERWARNUNG: offensive Jugendsprache!

Frank Askin, Astronaut einer privaten Firma, verdächtigt seinen Boss, ein Zeitreisender zu sein. Dieser ist ein Konkurrent der Galaktischen Union, weswegen Sherlock Holmes den Auftrag erhält, ihm auf den Zahn zu fühlen. Dabei ist ihm Dr. Watson äußerst nützlich, gerät aber in große Gefahr.

Auf Gliese 1214 b existiert seit Jahren eine Forschungsstation, deren zwölf Mitglieder schon länger nichts von sich hören ließen. Bereits kurz nach ihrer Ankunft erfahren Kapitän Decker, Sherlock Holmes und Dr. Watson vom Tod eines Forschers, der laut dem Bericht eines Roboters nicht natürlich gewesen sein kann.
