Story
In this 1905 collection of essays, G. K. Chesterton contests the growing intolerance for religious thinking and theological debate. He calls out friends and contemporaries - George Bernard Shaw, Rudyard Kipling, and H. G. Wells, among others - who hold divided views on art, literature, and politics but universally dismiss orthodox opinions on God and the cosmos.

Story
I’ve landed in Denver as a backup goalie—a huge step down from the starting position I’m used to. Uprooting my two young kids after losing their mom wasn’t in the plan. I thought I could ease the sting by hitting the reset button and maybe channeling a bit of my younger, single self. But the dating game? I’m rusty. Then I meet Mia Morales—the stunning agent helping me find our new home. She’s smart, beautiful, and way out of my league. With her fiery spirit, she makes me feel things I haven’t in a long time.

Story
Murder comes in two familiar forms. Whether as a crime of passion with high emotions or a cold dispassionate plot to take life in order to gain in some way, the act strikes us all as somehow inhuman. Beneath us as civilised beings. But however we cloak our animal instincts the need to remove a human being and gain relief from abuse or gain from money, the term is just the same – MURDER. Robert Louis Stevenson, Arthur Conan Doyle, J M Barrie, W W Jacobs and many others bring their literary heft to bear in as calculating a way as any killer could.

Story
Orthodoxy (1908) is a book by G. K. Chesterton that has become a classic of Christian apologetic. Chesterton considered this book a companion to his other work, Heretics, writing it expressly in response to G.S. Street's criticism of the earlier work, "that he was not going to bother about his theology until I had really stated mine". In the book's preface Chesterton states the purpose is to "attempt an explanation, not of whether the Christian faith can be believed, but of how he personally has come to believe it." In it, Chesterton presents an original view of Christian religion.

With the murder attempts behind us, I just want to focus on getting to know these bachelors. Fun not forever, lust not love. That’s my motto, and I plan on sticking to it. Until some of these males start sneaking their way into my heart. A tiger, a dragon, an angel—who can keep them all straight? Then there’s my ex’s twin. He has no right to be anywhere near my stupid, fragile heart that suddenly starts beating wildly whenever he’s around.

Story
In this series we look at some of our leading classic authors across two genres: the short story and the poem. In this modern world there is an insatiable need to categorise and pigeon-hole everyone and everything. But ideas, these grains and saplings of the brain, need to roam, to explore and find their perfect literary use vehicle. Our authors are masters of many literary forms, perhaps known for one but themselves favouring another.

The plot centers around the adventures of Humphrey Pump and Captain Patrick Dalroy, who roam the country in their cart with a barrel of rum in an attempt to evade Prohibition, exploiting loopholes in the law to temporarily prevent the police taking action against them.View our full collection of podcasts at our ...
