It’s spring break! But Max doesn’t get to go to the comic book convention to see his favorite superhero Mr. Amazing like he wants to. No, he has to spend it at the beach with his family. And his vacation turns into one horrible disaster after another. First, there’s the sticky road trip, thanks to his little sister’s messy eating habits. Then, he suffers the worst sunburn ever, and to top all of that, his nose has a dangerous confrontation with a crab.

At the striking of midnight into the new millennium, a new threat comes from the darkness. A baby was rescued, but now a young boy is in danger. Three women are fighting. Nobody is safe. The year 1000 is no more; the year 2000: death.

This is my first attempt at writing a laugh-out-loud comedy. It is a satirical look at what it’s like for your average 18-year-old who joins the elite British Army Parachute Regiment. From the initial shock of leaving home to the pride on donning the famous Maroon Beret. However, this is not your typical book. The story is narrated by a very clever and sarcastic fly. If this fly were to be compared to a human, it would probably be a morphed version of Jeremy Clarkson and Billy Connelly.

Christmas break is only a few weeks away. But before Max can relax and enjoy his winter holiday, he has to face a danger beyond any others that he has come across at Filmore Middle School. It is something he fears more than the school bully, Bart Johnson. Something more embarrassing than having to wear stinky gym clothes from the Lost and Found. The Winter School Dance! Girls are supposed to ask the boys this time to the dance. Will anyone ask Max? He doesn’t even know if he wants to go. Will he be expected to actually dance at the event?

Today is Halloween, Max’s favorite day of the year. That’s because of trick-or-treating, the neighborhood haunted house, and he gets to dress up as his favorite superhero, Mr. Amazing. But the day doesn’t start off as Max had hoped. First, his best friend, Sam, also dresses up Mr. Amazing. That’s super embarrassing. Then he has to deal with the big kids at Filmore Middle School who keep tugging on his cape and snapping his mask. That is super annoying. And on top of it, his parents ruin his plans to go trick-or-treating. That is super upsetting.

On the first day of school, Max’s alarm goes off bright and early. But he is not ready to get back into the routine of a new school year, especially not with all the dangers he has to face. First, he has to get ready and get out the door before Mom hits 10 on her stress-o-meter and goes nuclear. Then, he has to avoid the Tar Pit of Filmore Middle School and the school’s biggest bully Bart Johnson.

They have to find a way to survive swarms of biting insects, practical jokes, and a wedgie war if they are every going return to civilization and their video games again.
