Darium Blackseed is convinced his destiny has been determined from birth. At the wedding of his brother, Sir Kin de Bar tries to save the book of alchemy from the old witch Hecuba, but it crumbles in his hands. He is then cursed with the touch of gold, and only can stop it from happening by wearing the golden gauntlets.

Sir Arnon de Bar has just been released from a curse by the old witch Hecuba. The problem is, some side effects still linger. He sees a beautiful but mysterious woman at the swamp one night, and he catches her kissing a frog before she vanishes into thin air.

The de Bar siblings continue to be cursed by the old witch Hecuba, as Cinderella's memories of her past are stripped away. Living with an evil stepmother and two mean stepsisters, Ella can't remember who she is, and neither can she remember her true family, or even Sir William, the man she loves.

Sir Stefan de Bar is cursed by the old witch, Hecuba, and his curse may just be worse than any of the curses bestowed upon his siblings. After an ambush and seizing Breckenridge Castle, he is left bruised and bloodied and with damage to his face. Hecuba curses him, telling him he is naught but a beast, and when his anger arises, the beast inside him shall start to emerge. If he doesn't find someone to love him for who he is before the last petal falls, he will stay a beast forever.

MacKay de Bar is the only one of the siblings yet to be cursed by the evil witch, Hecuba. In an attempt to stop her, he breaks her magic mirror. When a shard gets embedded into his chest, strange things begin to happen and he realizes he, too, has been cursed after all. Hecuba banishes him to an island with a wicked queen. In this frozen land, MacKay's curse makes all that is good look evil, and all that is evil look good.

Rapunzel de Bar has been kidnapped by the old witch Hecuba, and imprisoned in a tower with no doors and only one window. Tired of waiting for her brothers to rescue her, Rapunzel decides to escape on her own. Since she's been cursed, her hair keeps growing longer and longer. She hangs from her braid out the window, and with her eyes closed, cuts her hair, dropping to the ground.

Diamond Lantern ties together the physical world with the non-physical world of spirit. It carries the message that the two are not separate, that each life lived has purpose and reason, and each person a mission to be fulfilled.

Zann Blackseed is the huntsman for the king of Evandorm in the land of Mura. Zann has the power to shapeshift into a white wolf, and does so to help in the hunt.
