Jack Walker journeyed halfway around the world and completed his daring rescue. He must now return home, traversing a world filled with endless hordes of night runners, the genetically-altered, ferocious species that now inhabit the dark recesses left over from the demise of mankind and now dominate the planet. The only things more dominant are the billions of corpses left to rot where they died.

Not only do the survivors have millions of infected to worry about, but there is a ticking time bomb that they have to diffuse. The western forces have secured an island, but it’s not truly theirs. The air is contaminated by the millions of infected.

The ARES Virus ran rampant throughout the world, leaving very few remaining. There are no sanctuaries in the midst of the infected, where the very air is contaminated. For the few surviving, the slightest misstep can introduce the viral agent into their midst, bringing an end to the last vestige of humankind. However, there's too much at stake to merely hover in the shadows. Remnants of the navy survive the catastrophe, but humankind has never been able to live for long periods upon the world's oceans.

The seven Seals were broken and the trumpets sounded, their notes echoing around the world. Four horsemen had emerged from the midst of roiling storms and set loose upon humanity. Civilization ended in smoke and flame with clouds of radioactivity encircling the globe. 144,000 had been marked and were the only survivors, driven underground by the poisonous conditions and the nuclear winter which followed the exchange of atomic weapons. The exception is a valley held under the protection of four angels holding a corner of the world free. Those few who remain hold the future hope for humanity in a land where the darkness holds sway. As demons walk freely among the sanctuaries, will they be able to upset the balance and drive the last vestige of light from the land?

The nuclear winter has ended. Survivors cautiously begin to peek out of their underground shelters, each having endured their separate trials. They emerge into a foreign land wiped bare from the ferocious storms and glaciers. Many find signs directing them to a land prepared, but the journey over inhospitable terrain is daunting. In the protected valley, life begins anew. Two groups have fragmented the peaceful valley, each certain they are right in their beliefs. The barrier still stands, holding off the harsh weather, but for how long? Something dark has begun gathering.

Following their emergence into a foreign and hostile land, survivors strive to cross the barren country, many intercepted by the darkness which has thundered out of the gates...Those captured are taken to the gates of hell which have opened up, there to fuel the fires. Lucifer plans on opening the final gate, giving him the power to break through heaven’s gate. Alone on Earth while his brothers and sisters fight at their very gates, can Michael do anything to alter the outcome? And, what is it that Elohim has planned?
