The battle at the galactic center had been a great victory for the Federation and the Alliance but at a tremendous cost. The Battleship Avenger and her fleets had vanished being drawn into a great white vortex at the moment of victory. For over four years, the mystery of what happened to the Avenger has haunted the Federation.

In desperation, they set off in their lunar rover to check out an anomaly they discovered on their descent. What they find will shake their beliefs and what they know of human history. The Stars Realm has 832 new members, and they are ready to go to the Galaxy of the plant creatures and attempt to stop their destruction of entire planets. It is not going to be easy having to face fleets of more than a million warships with some of the largest being longer than 20 miles. This confrontation is going to be monumental.

For over 30 years, there has been no word or sign of the Zaltule. The Zaltule are the warrior caste of the Kleese and the most dangerous race in existence. In a battle that nearly destroyed the solar system, the Zaltule were driven from human space. Now, they are back and more deadly than ever. If they are not stopped, the humans and their allies will be destroyed or forced into slavery.

If he succeeds, the war will be over. And if he fails then the Federation will face imminent defeat.
