In the highlands of Honduras, a few hundred Lenca people cling tenaciously to their culture, their customs, and each other. On a road trip through Mesoamerica, we find markets and countyside villages. (This Audio Journey is also available in our MesoAmerica Series.)

In his studio overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Emmy-award winning head writer Jerry Juhl (1938-2005) sat down for a casual interview with Audio Journeys. Outside of Muenster, we visit a unique project: a biotope, an important sanctuary for hundreds of thousands of birds. We enter a bird blind with Dr. Hans Schutz, the man in charge of the biotope.

Not an actual train, in the mid-1800's, the Underground Railroad transported and protected escaping enslaved Africans through a network of safe houses and places, on their way to freedom in the North.

Lassen Volcanic National Park is a year-round wonderland. The 13th park in the system, Lassen VNP has all four types of volcanoes within its boundary. With its Art Deco design, it sailed from England to New York 1,001 times between 1936 and December 11, 1967.
