Master Builder Halvard Solness is an ageing architect who has not achieved what he wanted, neither in art nor in love. He fears and bullies his juniors, and thinks he is going mad. His wife and mistress try to care for him as best they can, without themselves getting hurt in return. The situation is further fraught by the arrival of young and seductive Hilda Wangel, who also plays a part in Ibsen's previous drama "The Lady from the Sea.

A Doll's House is a three-act play in prose by Henrik Ibsen. The play is significant for its critical attitude toward 19th-century marriage norms. It aroused great controversy at the time, as it concludes with the protagonist, Nora, leaving her husband and children because she wants to discover herself. Ibsen was inspired by the belief that "a woman cannot be herself in modern society", since it is "an exclusively male society, with laws made by men and with prosecutors and judges who assess feminine conduct from a masculine standpoint".

An audiobook adaptation of Iben's classic, When We Dead Awaken. First published in 1899 it is a despairing and dream-like play rich in symbolism. This was also Ibsen's final play written at the time of his return to Norway after an extended absence a theme which is also reflected in the plot and it is interesting to speculate how much of Ibsen is contained in the lead character, the sculptor, Rubek, including Ibsen's own relationship with his masterpiece, A Doll's House.

Henrik Ibsen’s play The Master Builder was published in 1892 and performed the next year. The architect and builder Halvard Solness receives a visit from the young Hilda, who persuades him to employ her in the household. When Hilda learns of the completion of Halvard’s project - a tall building with a towering steeple - she makes a point of persuading him to climb the steeple at the public opening ceremony. Halvard of course, suffers from acrophobia, a morbid fear of extreme heights....

An Enemy of the People is an 1882 play by the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, who wrote it in response to the public outcry against his previous play, Ghosts, which challenged the hypocrisy of 19th-century morality. An Enemy of the People tells the story of a man who dares to speak an unpalatable truth and is punished for it. Ibsen uses the language of comic exaggeration through the mouth of his spokesman, the idealist Doctor Thomas Stockmann, who rejects all absolute principles of either wisdom or morality.

In A Doll's House, a happily married Nora decides to borrow money to finance a trip to Italy, where her husband needs to go for treatment. At the time, a woman couldn't do anything, let alone borrow money, without her husband's consent. So, Nora forged her father's signature.

Hedda and George Tesman have just returned from their six-month honeymoon tour of the Tyrol. George, a studious and somewhat dull academic has spent most of the time continuing his research. Hedda, the daughter of the celebrated, aristocratic General Gabler, recently deceased, has been accustomed to the finer things in life. She is already bored in her marriage and diverts herself with her father's pistols and the attentions of family friend, Judge Brack.

This book contains two plays by Henrik Ibsen. Norma is a satirical opera designed as a dramatic parody of Vincenzo Bellini's opera Norma, in which the characters are portrayed as central figures in the political life of contemporary Norway. St. John's Night is a fairy-tale comedy that takes place during a midsummer feast on a farm in Telemark. It is inspired by many sources, most notably A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare, and features many of the same themes.

Anton Rubinstein förderte sein Musikstudium und fortan ging Tschaikowskis Musik um die Welt.

Peer Gynt är ett äventyrsdrama, skrivet med stor humor och mycket ironi på fyndig fri vers med ett djärvt folkligt språk. Peer Gynt är ett av Ibsens populäraste verk. Det kombinerar prosans äventyrsberättelse, poesins versspråk och dramats dialog och handling. Dramat är mycket längre än normalt för dramer, men har regelbundet satts upp i förkortad form; första gången 1876 med Griegs senare så välkända musik.

Det er i Vildanden, vi finder det verdensberømte Ibsen-citat: "Tager De livsløgnen fra et gennemsnitsmenneske, så tager De lykken fra ham med det samme." - (Vildanden, 5. akt). Og dette citat angiver hovedtemaet i Vildanden. Fotografen Hjalmar Ekdal lever tilfreds med sin kone Gina, datteren Hedvig og sin gamle far.

Ett dockhem är ett av Ibsens mest lästa och uppsatta dramer. Dramat utspelar sig i ett av Köpenhamns välbärgade hem, där den vackra Nora spelar rollen som perfekt hustru och mor. Men allt är inte som det ser ut vid första anblicken. Noras inre föreställningar och förväntningar harmonerar inte med omvärldens realiteter, och hon tvingas att ta upp kampen med livslögnen vid sitt möte med juristen Krogstad, som hotar hennes annars bekymmerslösa tillvaro.

Dramaet udspiller sig i en lille norsk kystby, hvor lægen ved det netop opførte kurbad, Dr. Tomas Stockmann, får mistanke om, at badevandet er forurenet. Hans mistanke bliver bekræftet, da analysen af en vandprøve kommer med posten. Badevandet er sygdomsfremkaldende. Dr. Stockmann forventer, på baggrund af sin opdagelse, at blive mødt af hele byens taknemmelighed, men ikke alle er lige begejstrede for lægens afsløring.

Et dukkehjem er et af Ibsens mest læste og opførte dramaer. Dramaet udspiller sig i et af Københavns velhaverhjem, hvor den skønne Nora udfylder rollen som hustru og moder til perfektion. Men ikke alt er, som det umiddelbart ser ud til. Noras indre forestillinger og forventninger harmonerer ikke med omverdenens realiteter, og hun bliver nødsaget til at tage kampen op med livsløgnen ved mødet med juristen Krogstad, der truer hendes ellers bekymringsløse tilværelse.
