NASA finally made it. The very first human has just set foot on the surface of our neighbor planet. This is the start of a long research expedition that sent four scientists into space. After a long journey to Saturn’s moon Enceladus, spaceship ILSE is on its way back to Earth, carrying crucial cargo. The crew is exhausted and wants nothing more than a quick return home. Suddenly, a chain of malfunctions puts the expedition in peril. The difficulties appear to be related to planet Jupiter, whose orbit they are crossing. Is it the giant planet itself that won’t let these travelers pass? "Möbius 3" ist das große Finale der Trilogie, die in einem Vulkan auf Island und im Keller der Princeton University begonnen hat. Oder nicht? Wenn die Vergangenheit radikal schnell zur Zukunft wird, bietet die Zukunft keine sichere Zuflucht mehr.

Das Raumschiff Shepherd-1 ist unterwegs zum sonnennächsten Stern. Auf halbem Weg gelingt es der Besatzung, mithilfe der Gravitationslinsen-Technologie scharfe Bilder vom Ursprung des Universums anzufertigen – und damit die Antwort zu erhalten, die verrät, wie der Kosmos entstanden ist und ob ein Gott dabei seine Hand im Spiel hatte oder nicht. Doch kaum teilt die Crew das der Erde mit, verstummt die Funkverbindung, obwohl das Schiff offenbar funktionsfähig ist.
