They have been taught to work and to work hard to produce more, and the rich become even richer. Society has lived under this insanity. The state of letting go, of being deeply relaxed is generally called laziness. Although it goes against a workaholic society, it is a basic requirement for sanity.

In this talk Osho raises a critical voice about the double standards that have prevailed throughout the political history of the United States. He points to the discrepancy between the constitutional values of freedom and democracy, basic human rights and freedom of expression, which the United States has taken so much pride in, and the barbaric treatment it has given to the native people of America. The wider applications of this hypocrisy are obvious.

Osho speaks about the great harm that all organized religions have done to humanity by dividing man against himself, by creating a division between head and heart. Man has become a split personality fighting with himself and projecting his fight onto the outside world. Osho's meditations are designed to heal these wounds and bring about a return to a natural state of self-integration.

Being loose and natural will give you a spontaneous awareness, rather than making an effort to reach a certain goal. No effort is going to succeed because the cause of all misery is the doer, the ego, our idea of self. Osho only teaches awareness. Suppression is not the way to buddhahood. Simply relax and be whatsoever you are - and awareness will come by itself.

When he is asked how to be happy, Osho responds by questioning the very logic of the question. How can wanting to be happy ever lead to happiness? Osho springs back and forth between exploring the neurotic American dream of happiness, and describing what it actually takes to be happy.

Crisis is a very valuable time. When everything is in chaos, nothing is static, nothing is secure. Who knows what is going to happen next? In such a chaotic moment you are free, you can change. You can escape from your inner prison and attain to the innermost core of your being. In times of great crisis enlightenment is more accessible. The time can be used for your individual growth.

Every morning when you wake up, you become aware and your dreams disappear. You can do the same thing with the endless dreaming of your mind - the dreams that nourish your ego. This capacity to be aware, to witness, is already yours. It is nourished by celebration. Celebration helps you become more sensitive and more alert to life. Don't invest in misery, invest in celebration.

Here Osho reminds us that the world is a cosmos not a chaos. Then why do we experience it as chaotic? Because we experience the world through our mind, and the mind is by its very nature chaotic. The way out of this chaotic mess is through meditation. It is through meditation that you can experience life in all its mystery without the filters if the mind. Through cathartic meditation techniques in particular you can dissolve the chaos and create space for more celebration.

Looking around, following the world news, what do you see? Austerity, unemployment, asylum seekers, refugee camps, police brutality.... Everywhere there is misery and suffering. Why? Osho offers his insight and his solution.

Osho responds to questions and speaks about psychological concepts as presented by Freud, Jung, Adler and Assagioli and others, comparing their theories with the Eastern practice of meditation. While psychologist and physicians approach the body and the mind separately as illness, Osho exams the wider human condition and the underlying issue which he calls a "spiritual illness". He points out that every individual longs for freedom and is surrounded by restrictive systems that deny this fundamental right.

E ciò accadrà soprattutto in Occidente, perché là si è raggiunto un sufficiente grado di benessere, la povertà non è più una regola e la gente può pensare a cose più elevate. E volgere lo sguardo alle stelle." Con queste parole di grande ottimismo Osho commenta l'arrivo del terzo millennio, epoca in cui, secondo lui, potrà nascere l'Uomo Nuovo.

È proprio come una giovane piantina, fragile e delicata, che può essere distrutta da una folata di vento più forte o divorata da qualsiasi animale." I bambini sono espressione di spontaneità e libertà, vivono una gioia, una giocosità e una creatività naturali. La nostra cultura tende a visualizzare l'infanzia attraverso la nostalgia che rende tutto rosa, facile e felice.

"In amore vince chi ama" è il seguito ideale "Con te e senza di te" nonché il suo completamento, per cogliere nella totalità il messaggio di Osho sui temi dell'amore. Trasformare il sesso in un'esperienza sacra, guarire la malattia dell'ego e uscire dall'isolamento e dalla solitudine, distinguere tra dipendenza, indipendenza e interdipendenza, superare la gelosia e la routine... Illuminante, spiazzante, a volte quasi disturbante come lo sono le parole che colgono nel segno, questo audiolibro può essere ascoltato come una vera e propria terapia (d'urto) per il mal d'amore.
