It was strange, but still it was true that this one was called Jim. He didn't have any sick mother either - a sick mother who was pious and had the consumption, and would be glad to lie down in the grave and be at rest but for the strong love she bore her boy, and the anxiety she felt that the world might be harsh and cold towards him when she was gone.

In 1875, at the age of 3, she had written her first letter to Santa Claus. As a writer and loving father, Twain, couldn't stand for his young daughter to feel like her work went unheard, so he penned the following letter to "My Dear Susie Clemens" from "The Man in the Moon" himself.

"A Dog's Tale" is a short story written by Mark Twain. It first appeared in the December 1903 issue of Harper's Magazine. The Mysterious Stranger is a novel attempted by the American author Mark Twain. He worked on it intermittently from 1897 through 1908. "Meine Reise um die Welt" ist ein Reisebericht vom US-amerikanischen Schriftsteller Mark Twain (1835-1910). Bei dieser Ausgabe handelt es sich um den zweiten Teil (Zweite Abteilung) wo sich Twain mit „Indien“ und „Südafrika“ beschäftigt.

Immer näher winkte die Zeit, wo man wieder barfuß gehen konnte; dann kam das Murmelspiel an die Reihe, später Kreisel und Reifen oder man ließ den Drachen steigen, und wenn es endlich Sommer geworden war ging's zum Schwimmen.

Auf unserer Schweizerreise waren wir, ich und mein Reisebegleiter Harris, einmal im ›Schweizerhof‹ in Luzern abgestiegen, wo wir ein Tischgespräch hatten, an das ich zeitlebens denken werde. Man ging um 7½ zur Tafel, an der sich eine Menge Angehöriger der verschiedensten Nationalitäten zusammenfanden; doch ließen sich an den ungeheuer langen Tischen besser Kleider als Menschen beobachten, da man die Gesichter meist nur in der Perspektive zu sehen bekam.

If there is a decent word findable in it, it is because I overlooked it. 1601 depicts a highfalutin and earthy discussion between the Queen and her court about farting and a variety of sexual peccadillos, narrated disapprovingly and sanctimoniously by the Queen's Cup-Bearer, an eyewitness at the Social Fireside.
