For all we know, or think we know, about Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, what we don’t know is far, far greater. Sherlock Holmes wird von der Mutter des armen Kerls kontaktiert. Holmes und Dr. Watson machen sich also auf den Weg nach Amerika. Eine auffallend schöne Frau aus dem Süden kommt nach London, auf der Suche nach ihrem entfremdeten Ehemann. Sie nimmt Kontakt mit Mitarbeitern ihres Ehemanns auf. Alle drei sind ein paar Tage später tot, erdrosselt von einer Gruppe von Anarchisten. Sie wendet sich an Holmes. Die Ereignisse überschlagen sich und führen die Gruppe reitend durch Südengland. Es beginnt ein Lauf gegen die Zeit, um ein katastrophales Attentat zu verhindern und das Imperium zu retten.
