Esta obra es la esencia nostálgica que brota del rincón de mi existencia, las que presento en versos los que quizás muchos ojos leerán y al hacerlo no verán, mas mi voz gritara aunque quizás no se oiga, tal vez porque soy la simple lagrima que comienza a recorrer a ciegas y en la oscuridad los senderos de una faz desconocida. En cada uno de estos poemas me encuentro, porque cada uno formo parte de mi ser en algún momento de mi vida y en algún instante de mi vida fueron mi vida en ese instante.

Flores en el barro es un recordatorio de que la vida no siempre es perfecta y que a veces nos encontramos hundidos en el fango del dolor, la pérdida y las dificultades. Sin embargo, en ese barro se esconden semillas que florecen en medio de la adversidad, dándonos la fuerza para superar los obstáculos y brillar incluso en los momentos más oscuros.

In einer Bataille (Die Schlacht von einem Offizier) ist eine 1782 erschienene Ballade, Auszug: Schwer und dumpfig, Eine Wetterwolke, Durch die grüne Ebne schwankt der Marsch. Zum wilden eisernen Würfelspiel Streckt sich unabsehlich das Gefilde. Blicke kriechen niederwärts, An die Rippen pocht das Männerherz, Vorüber an hohlen Todtengesichtern Niederjagt die Front der Major: Halt! Und Regimenter fesselt das starre Kommando.

Für seine Ballade „Kassandra“ greift Schiller den Kassandra-Mythos aus dem antiken Epos Troja auf. Die Ballade enthält dem entsprechend viele Namen und Anspielungen aus der Troja und der antiken Götterwelt.

Der Jüngling am Bache: An der Quelle saß der Knabe, Blumen wand er sich zum Kranz, Und er sah sie fortgerissen, Treiben in der Wellen Tanz. Und so fliehen meine Tage, Wie die Quelle, rastlos hin! Und so bleichet meine Jugend, Wie die Kränze schnell verblühn!

Die Kraniche des Ibykus ist eine Ballade von Friedrich Schiller aus dem Jahr 1797, die im 6. Jh. v. Chr. spielt. Die Ballade wurde erstmals in Schillers Musenalmanach für das Jahr 1798 herausgegeben. Die Ballade beruht, wie bei Schiller oft, auf einem tatsächlichen historischen Geschehen: der Ermordung des Dichters Ibykos.
