1916. Young artist Sam Burke is spared death by firing squad on the battlefields of France and brought to a remote castle by the Irish Sea. At the ‘Tin Nose Shop’, he is tasked with creating intricate masks to hide the mutilated faces of his fellow soldiers from the Front. While he tries to come to terms with the death of his best friend and the promise he failed to keep, Sam and the disfigured soldiers struggle to return to their former lives and their loved ones.

Teufelhunden: 1918 is a gritty, in-your-face, fast-paced historical fiction short story that takes place in June 1918 during the battle of Belleauwood, France. This story is told through a first-person storytelling lens that follows Corporal Young over a nine-hour period that explores the desperation, brutality, and unapologetic trench warfare of the early 20th century and the ugly truths war exposes in ourselves.

Lenin's journey in a sealed train took place in April 1917 during the First World War. The journey took Vladimir Ilyich Lenin together with other emigrants from Swiss exile through the German Reich via Scandinavia to Petrograd, today's Saint Petersburg. The "sealed train" was only used on the German part of the route. Lenin's arrival in Russia led to the 1917 revolution and the peace treaty between Russia and Germany in March 1918.
