Lady Lavinias jährlicher Maskenball auf Mydworth Manor ist einer der gesellschaftlichen Höhepunkte in dem kleinen Städtchen. Die weltberühmte Pilotin Amelia Earhart ist zu Besuch in Mydworth und sammelt dort Geld für eine spektakuläre Flugshow, auf der nur weibliche Pilotinnen auftreten sollen. Lady Lavinia ist ein großer Fan der beeindruckenden Fliegerin und auch Kat und Harry sind sehr gespannt auf die Show. Doch es gibt offenbar jemanden, der diesen Auftritt mit allen Mitteln zu sabotieren versucht. Als Amelia nur knapp einem heimtückischen Anschlag auf ihr Leben entgeht, zögern Lord und Lady Mortimer keinen Moment und setzen alles daran, die Pilotin zu schützen.
