His fiction has appeared in Santa Cruz Noir, Hawai‘i Review, and Asian Pulp, and his film criticism has been published by Bright Wall /Dark Room, Far East Films, and LoveHKFilm. Calvin earned a doctorate in literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz and lives in Honolulu, where he has taught courses in American literature, Asian American literature, and detective fiction.
