Where Race, Sports, and Society Meet | Professor Kenneth Shropshire

  • Summary

  • What is the history behind NIL and is it turning out like its architects had hoped? What is DEI and does it even belong in sports? And finally, what responsibility, if any, do athletes and coaches have when it comes to politics and social justice?

This week we're diving into the complex intersection of race, sports, and society with one of the foremost experts on the subject; Professor Kenneth Shropshire.

Professor Shropshire played four years of football at Stanford, earned a law degree from Columbia, is the author of 12 books, is the former CEO of the Global Sport Institute and was named Adidas Distinguished Professor of Global Sport at Arizona State University (2017-2022). He currently serves as Senior Advisor to the Dean, Professor Emeritus and Director of the Wharton Coalition for Equity & Opportunity (Wharton CEO) at the Wharton School.
