What's the Deal with Sobriety and Substances?

  • Summary

  • In this episode, we dive head first into sobriety, substance use, and substance misuse. I kick off the episode by walking you through my personal journey with alcohol and drugs, discussing my struggles, various life phases, and my current standpoint: embracing sobriety, no alcohol, and occasionally turning to plant medicine when it resonates with my soul. I explore the concept of soul blueprints, meaning that what is right for one may not be right for another, and vice versa. While certain things are in accordance with my own soul blueprint, yours might look different, and that is OK. It's all about being honest with yourself and following your intuition to find what truly aligns with you. I also touch on common topics that arise when it comes to substances—fear of missing out (FOMO), false happiness, and instant gratification—and how I came to understand and work through them myself. Finally, we discuss the difference between using substances recreationally versus intentionally, and why I only advocate for and believe in intentional use: where substances are approached with mindfulness and purpose. If you’re curious about finding balance and understanding your own relationship with substances, this episode is for you.
