In the realm of social media, where Instagram reigns supreme, we're constantly bombarded with images of mothers looking ethereal, surrounded by their picture-perfect families. It's a glossy veneer that often paints an unrealistic portrait of motherhood. The truth is, for many people, the postpartum journey is far more tumultuous than it appears on our screens.

  • story #69: Last Bad Day - Michael O'Brien
    Aug 2 2024

In the relentless pursuit of societal success, many of us find ourselves ensnared in a cycle of monotonous labor and delayed gratification. Trapped on the hedonic treadmill, we labor tirelessly, believing that true happiness lies just beyond the next purchase or promotion. This misguided belief blinds us to the beauty of the present moment, compelling us to sacrifice our dreams and aspirations in favor of a life deemed safe and conventional.

Amidst this ceaseless chase, we encounter Michael O'Brien, a successful businessman and devoted father. His life, once defined by 65-hour workweeks and the relentless demands of corporate leadership, took an unexpected turn on a fateful day. While cycling, he collided head-on with an SUV, an accident that should have claimed his life. Yet, against all odds, Michael survived, emerging from the wreckage with a profound shift in perspective. He was reborn, not as a victim, but as an intentional architect of his own life.

Speaking your truth can also help you to overcome challenges. When you're able to be honest about what you're going through, you open yourself up to the possibility of getting help and support from others. You also learn to trust your inner wisdom and rely on your strength.

This week’s storyteller knows all about this as she was once painfully shy. With over 15 years of experience coaching, Kealah Parkinson knows that when you are confident, focused & authentic with your message, you are a magnet to those you wish to attract.
