In today’s episode we have our first guest! Kado Stewart (He/They) is the Deputy Director of one•n•ten, a non-profit organization that provides social programs and supportive services for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults, ages 11-24 in Arizona. In his role, Kado builds community partnerships and oversees all programs and services at the organization. Key programs of one•n•ten include the POND Housing and Workforce programs, The Youth Center, 14 satellite locations across the state, Camp OUTdoors, Health and Wellness programs, the Trans and Non-Binary retreat and more. Kado has been creating safe and supportive spaces with and for LGBTQ+ youth in Arizona since 2008, when he founded Camp OUTdoors, one of the oldest and largest LGBTQ+ summer camp programs. Camp OUTdoors is now in its 16th year and has been featured on National Geographic and the camp team trains other camps on how to be inclusive & celebratory of LGBTQ+ campers. Kado is an American Camp Association Trained Camp Director, a Wilderness First Responder, an alum of Prescott College, an alum of the Leading for Change Fellowship, an alum the American Express Leadership Academy and alum of Americorps VISTA.
