  • In August 2020, Geraldine, her husband John, and their two children—14-year-old Tomás and 6-year-old Amelia—were making their way back home to Moville, Donegal, after a family trip to Derry.

    Due to adverse weather conditions, their car careened off the road and ended up in the River Foyle. Geraldine was the only survivor.

    This story is not only incredibly heartbreaking but also hugely inspirational.
