  • World Cup Special
    Jan 23 2023

Football is everywhere again, it is England's national sport, loved by many in Britain and around the globe. Following the success of the Lionesses in the Euros, it is now the mens turn. The mens FIFA World Cup is one of the most watched events, with billions tuning in to support their counties in the tournamnet. Since the announcement of Qatar as a host nation there has been controversy. Much of this has centred around the countries laws on issues such as LGBTQ+ rights and the reports of thousands of deaths of the migrant workers who have been building the stadiums. Is this simply thinly veiled Islamophobia and who does have a right to be the moral compass in a world filled with such vast inequalities? Join Adam, Aisha and Julian from the University of Wolverhampton's D.I.I.verse Hub who discuss this and more.
