Vision Talk Radio with Dr. Bob

By: Robert Rothbard O.D.
  • Summary

  • We interview experts in the eye care industry. Topics include how your vision impacts your ability to perform in school, work or even in sports. The second area will deal with the eye itself. New developments in eye surgery and treatment of certain eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration and glaucoma are discussed. Systemic disease and its effect on the eyes will be one of the topics discussed. Diet and the use of vitamins will also be a topic of discussion. Vision training and rehabilitation of one’s vision after traumatic injury will be discussed.brbr I invite you to call in with questions regarding these and other areas of vision and types of correction. Since a significant amount of eye problems are sight threatening as well as life threatening, I feel that some of the information discussed will be extremely important, and that you will realize there’s a lot more to good vision than 20/20.

  • Vision Is More Than 20/20

I will be looking forward to interviewing Dr. Beth Ballinger. The emphasis of the show will be on behavioral vision. Dr. Ballinger has a tremendous behavioral optometric practice in Newport Beach, California. In addition to working with patients who have blurred vision or eye disease, Dr. Ballinger works with kids and adults with learning challenges. She also works with infants who have developmental problems. In addition, she works with and helps treat patients who have autism, Down's Syndrome and a host of other neurological problems. We will be discussing her examination and treatment of these patients. I've known Dr. Ballinger for over 30 years. Her compassion and love for optometry and the patients she works with is second to none. Her warmth and love for the profession, I'm sure, will come through during the interview.
