Vinnie's Voice Podcast: HOPE on the Horizon

  • Summary

  • Vinnie's Voice Podcast is a service-based podcast focusing on St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County and our community partners as we work together to improve the lives of our neighbors. In this episode we are joined by Brent Heller who is the Director of Business Development at St. Vincent de Paul. He's also the project lead for the in-development HOPE Community Corporation. HOPE is a brand-new nonprofit started with support from St. Vincent de Paul and the state of Oregon. Based out of a remodel abandoned steel plant on Garfield Street in Eugene, HOPE Factory's goal is to provide affordable, high quality, and energy efficient housing to individuals and communities in need. But starting a housing factory isn't as easy as it might sound. Brent talks us through the process of getting the HOPE factory off the ground, the challenges they've faced, and the many ways this initiative will make a difference in the community.
