Tuesday's Special 002: Project 150 Las Vegas

  • Summary

  • In this episode of Tuesday's Special, J.Flo talks with Kelli Kristo, executive director of Project 150 in Las Vegas. This organization helps homeless teens within the Clark County School District by providing them with food distribution, education and empowerment classes, Betty's Boutique, additional resources and a scholarship program. Originating in December 2011 after a local news station ran a story on a high school that had 150 homeless students. What started out as a "Quick! Let's help in any way we can" has since turned into a year-round operating organization. In the podcast, J.Flo and Kelli talk about how Project 150 is helping those in need particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. Families who have never had to use a food pantry before are now using their food pantry, fundraising events have been cancelled and students who rely on school transportation aren't able to get all of their needs met without in-person school. If you would like to organize a donation drive or make a donation, Project 150 accepts non-perishable items; new and like-new, trendy clothing (shoes, accessories, undergarments, hats, outerwear, etc.) and full-size hygiene items. To learn more about Project 150, please visit project150.org on social @project150lv Donations can be received Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3600 N. Rancho Drive in Las Vegas.
