Travels To Other Worlds

  • Summary

  • In this episode we explore old tales of travels to other realms. Keith talks about select stories from Claude Lecouteux's book "Travels to the Otherworld and Fantastic Other Realms: Medieval Journeys into the Beyond", and Juliana continues the theme with tales of travels to Fairyland from the British Isles. A prince is gone for 300 years after venturing into a magical realm, a group of knights return with old rags after an encounter with the devil, midwives are kidnapped to deliver fairy babies and blinded in one eye for their trouble, and a 12-th century monk documents the finding of two green-tinged children on a knight's estate. All these and more will be discussed in today's episode, as well as replies to some feedback from the previous episode.
