  • Summary

  • Hello all, this is Ms. Harris, here to let you know it’s really happening! Washington Middle School is starting its own podcast! You were able to give suggestions for the title of our podcast on Schoology and then vote on which name you liked best. And you chose…drum roll please… The Husky Howl!

Our first episodes of The Husky Howl will feature booktalks from our dynamic, intelligent 6th graders. After that, students will be able to sign up to record their episodes to add to our feed. You could share a story or poem you’ve written, interview an interesting person, create a dramatic old-timey radio play, share the results of your STEM Expo project… Pretty much anything goes as long as it is respectful to our community and to each other’s boundaries. We are also going to be looking for someone to develop a short theme song to lead into our episodes AND reaching out to school groups to make announcements and advertisements for things like clubs, classes, and events. You will be able to sign up to record your ads, too.

In the meantime, start thinking about what you want your episode to be about and get working on your script! And if you know a group or event here at Washington that could use some free advertising, start researching what an effective 30 second ad might sound like.

I am so excited to start working with you on this project! Stay tuned for more announcements through Schoology.
