This Week in Michigan Football History 110224

  • Summary

  • This week in Michigan football history with Professor Greg Dooley. "Good afternoon! Today we journey back to 1907, a year that marked the beginning of a truly unique chapter in Michigan football history. On this very day, the Wolverines traveled south to the heart of Nashville, Tennessee to face off against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Michigan was a founding member of what we now know as the Big Ten. Back then it was the Western Conference, established in 1896. The decade that followed saw an explosion of popularity in football, with schools like Chicago, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and of course Michigan leading the charge and fueling the frenzy."
