The cult of yoginis- A discussion with nilanjana And her books about yoginis.

  • Summary

  • The author is an artist-cum-graphic designer, a digital content creator, and a Tarot Numerology reader keen on learning about esoteric subjects. An MA - English Literature (University of Calcutta), PGDMM (IGNOU), MFA (Himalayan University), Advanced Diploma in Computer Arts (EDIT Institute), Niilanjana has undergone formal training in Commercial Art and had taken training from eminent teachers in the areas of Art and Spiritual studies.

'Art & Spirituality in the Yogini Cult and Tantra' is a non-fiction memoir centred around Niilanjana's personal experiences related to her spiritual pursuit during her 21+ years’ stint in a prominent business conglomerate and thereafter. It is all about her quest for the unknown and enigmatic, her extensive research and analysis in the fields of Art, Sacred Geometry, and Spirituality; and her inner metamorphosis during her five expeditions to the ancient site of Chausath Yogini Temple in Hirapur, Orissa, between December 2015 and March 2021, and few other spiritually potent places in Orissa and West Bengal.

She is the recipient of the Rotary Club of Central Calcutta's 'Paschim Banger Kirtiman Manush Vocational Excellence Award (1999), and other accolades at inter-college fests/ intra-school competitions. Her initiative, 'VMoksha Kala Studio' (UDYAM-WB-14-0111101), implies liberation via her Spiritual and Mediumistic art forms. 'Vimoksha' signifies emancipation or Moksha, while 'Kala' refers to Chausath, or the 64 ancient Bharatiya forms of art, including Chitrakala (Visual/ Fine Arts).
