  • The Silence of the Lambs follows FBI trainee Clarice Starling, played by Jodie Foster, who is tasked with obtaining an insight into the mind of the imprisoned cannibalistic serial killer, Dr. Hannibal Lecter, portrayed by Anthony Hopkins, in hopes of catching 'Buffalo Bill', another serial killer on the loose. A tense psychological battle takes place as the brilliant but deranged Lecter toys with the young agent, trying to get into her head, while providing her with clues about Buffalo Bill. Through this intense interaction and her own determination, Starling is able to decipher Lecter’s clues and ultimately apprehend Buffalo Bill, saving his latest victim. The film explores themes such as the nature of evil, identity, and feminism.
