    The Cameron Twins are a collaborative artist duo of identical twins who work together in a range of different media including screen print, digital montage, photography, casting, sculpture and installation. Their vibrant sculptural practice involves creating casts of old, discarded toys and childhood treasures and strong pop-culture imagery to create new ‘toy forms’.

    The Cameron Twins challenge the gender and age stereotypes attached to toys, collectibles, colour, and play, and explore their role as ‘the artists’ in an age of social media and self-branding.

    They studied art during the pandemic and their work incorporates their reflections on living their formative years in a lockdown. As artists who had the beginnings of their professional practice dictated by the constraints of a global pandemic, their works are inventive, problem-solving, and outwardly focused.

    They were part of the 'Women to watch' exhibition at Reem Gallery Soho in December and in March 2023 they have a solo exhibition at Pure Evil Gallery in Shoreditch - their second solo show and first in London.     Tabish (@londonartcritic) is the visual arts writer for the Londonist, and has been for 10 years now, he has a regular column in FAD Magazine among others as well as appears on television and radio to discuss art exhibitions and art news. His journey into the art world was via a degree in biomedical science - perhaps not what you would expect. And it was in fact the posters on the London underground advertising blockbuster exhibitions which led him to galleries and art institutions, and he’s never looked back. His day job in the energy sector runs alongside this unexpected career as an art critic, and he sat down with Phoebe Minson (@phoebe_minson) to talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly of the art world.

    Welcome to a very special conversation with an artist featured in our ‘Women to Watch’ group exhibition at Reem Gallery Soho. Opening with a private view on the 6th of December, it is showing until Christmas Eve and features work by 16 artists. The first artist that our Creative Director Phoebe Minson (@phoebe_minson) spoke to, and that you will hear from in this episode, is Cerys Murphy aka Dirtee Murfee (@dirteemurfee) 

    Dirtee Murfee is an East London-based artist whose career was launched in lockdown after she created poignant and political street art pieces on the streets of Dublin. She is outspoken about issues affecting young women, and it was a protest piece about the lack of laws regarding revenge porn in Ireland that put her firmly in the public eye. Her works are a combination of abstract backgrounds inspired by the walls covered in peeling paste-ups that her work originated on, and text pieces, sometimes moving into the genre of prose or poetry. After a sell-out solo show at the Laz Emporium in London, Dirtee Murfee has continued to amuse, encourage and rally others with her works.

    The Reem Gallery podcast presents a conversation with @prestonpaperboy ahead of his solo show at Reem Gallery Soho (Ham Yard Village, W1D 7LT) titled 'Lonely crowded place'.

    Born and raised in Essex, England, Nathan Preston studied art at school before studying for a degree in architecture at the University of Brighton. After a decade of working as an architect, and painting on the side, painting became his day job. The work in question is Neo-expressionist portraiture; these carefully composed works utilise multiple mediums (charcoal, oil pastels, oil paints) to layer facial features, text, and motifs, and create a narrative that is influenced by street art, pop culture, and the artist’s own experiences with mental illness. Having exhibited in Hong Kong, Atlanta, and Miami, among other cities he is returning to London to show his new collection titled ‘Lonely crowded place’ at Reem Gallery Soho, in Ham Yard Village. 

    The private view is on the 16th of November from 6 pm, and the exhibition runs until the 3rd of December.

    Reem Gallery are thrilled to announce ‘ELLIPSIS’, a solo show by Irish artist Vincent Devine opening on the 5th October and running until the 22nd October.  

    Having made waves with his distinctive Neo-Dimensionalism style and politically and socially relevant pieces, he is bringing a new collection to Soho in October, featuring a profound portrait of Winston Churchill and Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II. Creative Director Phoebe caught up with him over zoom ahead of his solo show.

    The Reem Gallery podcast presents a conversation with @mrcenzone a street artist who has been embedded in South East London graffiti culture for 30 years, first getting involved aged 8. His parents were encouraging of his passion for painting, even when that passion landed him in police stations repeatedly throughout his youth. It’s been said that the late 1980’s was the peak in the tagging epidemic that faced British public transport, and today’s artist was front and centre, getting involved with his friends in what was known as ‘bus bombing’. He’s community-minded at his core and many murals have been part of wider community projects, like one in Winnipeg, Canada. His engagement with young people and his passion for the power of art to transform lives, which led him to set up the first graffiti workshop in London, continues to this day.
