The Reconnection Project

By: Barnaby King and Molly Jaeger
  • Summary

  • The Reconnection Project explores the intersection of creative arts, body-centered awareness, and wellbeing, and the surprising ways in which these practices are being used to heal and transform lives limited by pain. We believe that we find ourselves increasingly disconnected from nature, ourselves, our planet and each other, and that this disconnection is the cause of much of the pain, anguish and suffering experienced by humans in daily life. In an initial series of 10 interviews, Theater director Barnaby King and pain coach Molly Jaeger talk to innovative leaders in the field, to learn how they are employing dance, visual art, clowning, writing, storytelling and yoga to open up space for understanding, acceptance, peace, wisdom, beauty, love, ultimately healing the disconnection we are living into, and enhancing mental, emotional and spiritual wellness for all. Among their guests are renowned storyteller and internationally recognised author, Dr. Carl Hammerschlag; co-director of the Presencing Institute Arawna Hayashi; and Feldenkrais expert Lavinia Plonka. Molly Jaeger is founder of MOVE TO NOURISH, which offers mind/body-based solutions for people with chronic pain (www.movetonourish.com) Barnaby King is a clown teacher and founder of CLOWN SPIRIT, which uses the power of clown to bring lightness, joy and connection to people's lives (www.clown-spirit.com)

    Mar 14 2022

The Reconnection Project is a journey exploring the intersection of creative arts, body-centered awareness, and wellbeing, and the surprising ways in which these practices are being used to heal and transform lives limited by pain.

In the next stop on their travels, Molly and Barnaby talk with the delightful Paul Pui Wo Lee about his transition from being a dancer to being a bodyworker who helps dancers. He discusses losing his faith in art, and re-discovering a deeper sense of creativity and expression through his exposure to Feldenkrais and other somatic practices. Now he embraces the idea of not knowing, of accepting one's stupidity and ignorance as a way to discover new possibilities.
