  • Pete O'Hanlon Chats About How Being In The Strypes Taught Him To Take A Different Approach To Music
    Nov 11 2020
As part of a 'That Was Then This Is Now' special, Pete O'Hanlon of The Zen Arcade joined Paul on the show to talk about their first single, and the life lessons learned with The Strypes. This time around, the lads in The Zen Arcade are taking a different approach. They had planned to build up a fanbase via live shows but 2020 had other plans, so when that option was removed they started a podcast and released a zine before they even released a debut single. Pete spoke about the pressure that was there in The Strypes because they left school for the band, so they all felt that they really had to make it work. This time is different however, and not having a big label involved brings a sense of freedom to their decisions. The Zen Arcade were recording music when Level 5 kicked in but they hope to have a follow up to 'Don't Say A Word' for us in the next few months. You can hear the chat in full by pressing the play button on screen.
