This week I started another giveaway as I noticed I get more sales and followers when I do.

I got contacted by a beauty salon in Connecticut New York which was excited. They asked me to gift them some product for their Client Appreciation Day.

Then they asked about wholesaling with them. I was so excited about these opportunities. Then I was scared because I have no idea about wholesaling and prices so I need to figure this out.

Being impatient also made me offer the beauty salon cheaper wholesale prices then I should have offered because I wanted to partner with them. I need to learn patience. I am waiting to hear back from them.

I have also decided to add glitter to Lippy Links. The problem is the manufacturers wanted a much larger order than I can afford so I have been negotiating with them to something I can afford.

I love Italy and Italian influencers they are the best. An influencer I sent my product to posted and I got a sale. They are really very good at influencing.

Another opportunity came my way that I created. I noticed a new business that followed me. Turns out it’s another female inventor but in the US. She invented makeup lights. I said to her we should do a competition to help each other’s accounts grow. She said yes so we are working on it.

The great thing about her is that she has gone on a tv show with one of the judges being Gwyneth Paltrow. I am hoping to profit off some attention she will get when her episode goes live. Listen in to find out more.

I got lots of influencers asking for my product which can be very frustrating. Since I am a small business it would be nice if people actually bought from me and put money in my pocket instead of asking for free product taking money out of my pocket! I was thrilled to get orders from people who work at two big brands. One is Huda Beauty in Dubai and the other one is Chanel in Paris.

I greatly admire Huda as she has been very vocal about the Palestinian people. It is really brave of her to do this and she has only received more love from the beauty community which is great to see.

I have been contacting influencers asking them to put reviews on my website for social proof as others wait to see if people have bought and what they thought. The influencers have been very generous with their reviews which is great to see.

I also sat down and made up some more boxes of Lippy Links. It is incredibly time consuming, it takes about 3-4 hours putting together 30 boxes!

Then there is the constant of making content, replying to customers questions, responding to infleuncers contacting me, commenting on other posts and staying connected to the beauty community.

This week I had a tag to win giveaway which brings in more followers and interest. Such a great idea.

I did a few lip tutorials to mix up my marketing mix. The videos got some great views.

I got contacted by someone in Finland who asked about shipping and then they purchased. Then someone contacted me about shipping being expensive and as a one off I discounted shipping and they purchased. Then it turns out she is a makeup artist and said she would heavily promote Lippy Links which is great. Kindness is key.

I am experimenting with different types of content which is a great idea. I am just going to mix it up until I find what works.

I have also set a great goal. Tune it to find out what it is.

A lot of everything happened this week. I did some networking with LMBDW otherwise known as Minded Bitches Drinking Wine. A group started by Jane Lu the CEO of Showpo and the shark on Shark Tank.

I continued to get ghosted by my previous one session only mentor. But in a strange twist of events, he had a dog bed which he made his money with and I got contacted by a lady with a dog store on Facebook to help her with marketing. Listen in to hear what I thought.

Ever since I did the giveaway with an influencer my followers have continued to grow everyday.

I also had a bit of a run in with a beauty writer from one of my favourite magazines in the UK. Find out what happened.

I had my last session with the business counsellor. She was very robotic and clearly kept to her very strict script which was very repetitive. Every session was scheduled exactly the same way. She had a bird that squawked so loudly I could barely hear her but I really appreciate what I learned.

A girl in a high school in the US who has a beauty club contacted me for some Lippy Links. She said she wants to expand the club to other schools so who knows. I sent them to her but haven’t had the best results. Hopefully good news will follow soon.

My cousin in Greece did a post for me but unfortunately it wasn’t what I wanted. Find out why.

I found out I have to pay for content made my influencers if I want to use it on my website. A very rude awakening haha.

Lots of learning with making gifs for my website. There are ways around everything.

I got ghosted by my "mentor" This has made me really sad and also angry. I don’t know what I did wrong, I'm not happy about it and it affected me all week but now I am over it.

Business counselling is something I have been getting as I have found business quite stressful. It has really helped me a lot so I am grateful for it.

Influencers have been making some bad content and I had to tell an influencer why. Then another influencer did the same thing but I ignored the post she did in her story and just it go.

Upgrading my Linked In Account to premium for free for a month has allowed me to directly contact buyers from Mecca and Sephora to stock Lippy Links in their stores. Wish me luck!

I have also had influencers with big accounts follow me and I have been communicating with them. Find out what happened.

Someone from 90 day fiancée in the US contacted me about my product Lippy Links. At the moment I am only gifting but she was after payment so that was the end of that.

Great news this week!

I made heaps of sales! A lot of the orders came from the US. I have checked analytics but I don’t know what caused this.

A secret I am keeping for now is my new mentor. I harassed him a little on social media until he relented and we spoke hahaha. He is a multi-millionaire and a good friend of one of the sharks on Shark Tank.

He is being very generous by mentoring me for free. I am embarrassed about this but I am truly grateful and when I can I will pay him and also pay it forward.

I also rejoined the Discord group that Davie the founder of Oodie has. They are very focused to succeed which I like. I just need to be careful of opportunistic people!

She.com contacted me on Instagram about mentoring. They charge of course so they want a new client. I spoke to them but it is way too expensive for now.

An exit survey has been added to my website so I can see why people are exiting and fix it so people stay and buy. Very important.

I really enjoy listening to motivational videos on YouTube with affirmations about wealth and also I like the Lucky Girl Syndrome videos they are really good. I need lots of positivity around me. It all helps.

It was also World Mental Health Day on Thursday and I posted about it. Lippy Links is all about connection and good mental health is all about connecting with people to get the support you need be it from professionals, family or friends. If you are lucky all three.

I am getting lots of requests from big accounts for my product. I have been connecting with them and telling them I can only gift my product at the moment. I don’t hear back hahah.

It's ok sometimes you get lucky and they do it for free which has happened before but I didn’t get any results from it so you never know.

The winner was announced for the giveaway I had with another account. The giveaway was only for Australian residents but the other account didn’t check their account status and it turned out to be someone from the US.

So we had to find an Aussie winner which we did. A very uncomfortable situation and I was the one who had to break the bad news!

On the podcast this week I talk about making it a priority to find a mentor as this is getting really hard and I need all the advice I can get.

Influencers have been posting reels that are getting amazing views. One got 20K views and another got 15K views.

I got approached to do a giveaway with another influencer which is nice.

Someone gave me an idea about a new concept for Lippy Links. Instead of lipstick and lip liner how about matching mascara and eyeliner looks? Great idea so I made some content around this.

Tips for the week:

If you don't have any money something is better than nothing even if it's tiny amounts.

Trying a variety of ideas is good don't stick to the same concept.

Repeat posting successful posts. If it works why change it.

Constantly changing website to make sales. Change pictures, change words, change the whole front page. Keep going until it works.

Everything is a numbers game. The more you do - paid or unpaid the more results you get. It's just volume.

I finally get an answer to my endless issues with login in to Spotify. So annoying. CapCut is an amazing app that I use to made videos for TikTok I can't live without it.

This week I really got my act together and managed to schedule all my posts for the week.

A post an influencer made got picked up by Kylie Cosmetics and got reposted as a story.

I had a sale on Grind Final Day. Being in Melbourne that is all everyone has been talking about for weeks and its fever pitch. I know it’s a little off brand but there are many girls who love their footy and makeup too. Find out how the sale went.

A scammer claimed they made an order and wanted a confirmation email but looking at my stats on Shopify there was no evidence whatsoever of a sale from them so I blocked them. I didn’t know what else to do after exchanges of several emails.

As a special treat I bought myself a scarf by Alexander McQueen. It’s divine!
