LIFE AFTER HOCKEY PODCAST - EPISODE 6 - JJ HUNTER JJ Hunter is a former professional hockey player turned country music singer. Born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, JJ played three seasons with the Kelowna Rockets & Prince Albert Raiders of the WHL. He attended the Detroit Red Wings camp in 1999 & was part of the Edmonton Oilers organization from 2001-2006. During his pro hockey career JJ also played with the Hamilton Bulldogs, Toronto Roadrunners, Edmonton Roadrunners, Toronto Marlies & Manitoba Moose of the AHL. As well as the Toledo Storm & Columbus Cottonmouths of the ECHL. JJ has 4 brothers that also played hockey hockey. Three (Brock, Dusty, Luke) that played major junior & two (Dusty, Luke) that went on to play professionally. In 2016, the brothers created the Hunter Brothers group & have since released 2 albums. Their song ‘Lost’, was the lead single from their 2nd album, State of Mind, & was certified gold in Canada last year. It was the Hunter Brothers’ first-ever No. 1 single on Canadian country radio. As a group they have had six Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) award nominations & two Juno award nominations.
