  • The IT Factor: Episode 3 - ROI, TCO &the Business Case for M365
    Aug 2 2022

    When putting together business case to justify a move to the cloud, there are the real and obvious cost savings to be had; reduced server foot print, simplified and reduced licensing costs etc.

    There are also hidden or at least not as obvious and some intangible savings; reduced cost of risk, reduced complexity, reduced IT administration costs

    One of IT’s most important functions has become managing their data, applying the right controls without inhibiting worker productivity. With Microsoft 365, IT organisations don’t have to choose between providing a great user experience or making that experience secure. They can now do both.

  • The IT Factor: Episode 1 - Mastering Migrations Overview
    Jul 19 2022

    Hello and welcome to the first episode of The IT Factor.

    What is "The IT Factor"

    The long term plan is to release a podcast every week and have a roster of core technologies that we'll cover over a 4 week period, including;

    • M365
    • Enterprise Mobility + Security (Identity & Access Management, Endpoint Management, Information Management and Identity-driven security)
    • Azure
    • Cloud security and governance

    For now, we're easing into podcasting with a series that we're calling Mastering Migrations.

    We've all heard of Microsoft 365 and Office 365 but what is it?

    The major differences between Office 365 and Microsoft 365 is that Microsoft 365 offers all the benefits of Office 365 but adds Windows 10 licenses and Enterprise Mobility and Security (EMS) tools. This means an increased layer of security for your users. Microsoft 365 is a bit pricier than Office 365 but is a more complete package of services.

    While all Microsoft 365 plans offer increased security, choosing Microsoft 365 Business Premium adds a few extra layers such as multi-factor identification, Windows update management, Defender, and Firewall policies.
